We recommend washing your BioThane® gear by hand with mild soap and water, and then drying it with a soft cloth. Please keep in mind that brass hardware will naturally tarnish (develop a patina) over time; regularly polishing or cleaning the hardware will help minimize this process. Our nickel-plated, chrome-plated, and matte black hardware may show wear and tear over time; however, this is normal and does not compromise the hardware's integrity. To clean your hardware, we recommend washing it with mild soap and water, then drying it with a soft cloth.

Important Note: Please ensure that all hardware is thoroughly dried after use in any water, especially salt water. This will help to prevent the hardware from rusting.
While BioThane® is incredibly versatile and repels most dirt and grime, please note that it is not completely stain-proof in all circumstances. Regular cleaning is recommended to keep your BioThane® gear looking new.

Not all BioThane® is created equal; we use only Genuine BioThane® on every leash and collar we make.

BioThane® is a polymer-coated webbing that performs like leather without the drawbacks. It's waterproof, won't mold or mildew, and resists most common pet and outdoor odors. A quick rinse is all it takes to clean. BioThane® is manufactured in the USA.

While BioThane® repels most dirt and grime, it is not completely stain-proof in all circumstances. Regular cleaning with mild soap and water will keep your gear looking its best.

Which hardware finish should I choose?

Solid Brass stays looking like new with regular cleaning. Silver (Nickel-Plated) and Matte Black (Zinc Alloy) buckles are plated finishes that stay sharp with minimal upkeep. Nickel-Plated and Matte Black buckles are lighter weight. Heavy use on plated finishes may affect appearance over time, but won't impact performance. Rinse and dry all hardware thoroughly after any exposure to water.

Are BioThane collars waterproof?

Yes, 100% waterproof. Won't absorb water, perfect for water adventures. Just rinse and wipe dry.

How do I find the right size?

Measure your dog's neck at the base with a flexible tape. You should be able to slip 1–2 fingers comfortably between the collar and your dog's neck. If your dog is between sizes, size up. For buckle collars, choose a range where your measurement falls near the middle. Not sure? Do I need to condition BioThane?
