BioThane® Collars FAQ
Will this collar work with my Fi Series 3/3+ tracker?
Yes, this collar is specifically designed to be compatible with the Fi Series 3 and Series 3+ GPS tracker. The Fi links are sized to fit the Fi band securely so your tracker stays in place on every adventure.
Do I need to remove the collar to charge my Fi tracker?
It depends on your collar style. With our buckle and quick-release collars, simply remove the Fi tracker to charge it, or remove the collar entirely — whichever you prefer. With our inline collar, remove the collar and place it directly on the Fi charger.
Does BioThane interfere with the Fi GPS signal?
No, BioThane® is a non-metallic material and does not interfere with your Fi tracker's GPS or cellular signal. Your tracker will perform exactly as intended.
Which hardware finish should I choose?
Solid Brass stays looking like new with regular cleaning. Silver (Nickel-Plated) and Matte Black (Zinc Alloy) buckles are plated finishes that stay sharp with minimal upkeep. Nickel-Plated and Matte Black buckles are lighter weight. Heavy use on plated finishes may affect appearance over time, but won't impact performance. Rinse and dry all hardware thoroughly after any exposure to water.
Are BioThane collars waterproof?
Yes, 100% waterproof. Won't absorb water, perfect for water adventures. Just rinse and wipe dry.
How do I find the right size?
Measure your dog's neck at the base with a flexible tape. You should be able to slip 1–2 fingers comfortably between the collar and your dog's neck. If your dog is between sizes, size up. For buckle collars, choose a range where your measurement falls near the middle. Not sure? Do I need to condition BioThane?
No conditioning needed. The material stays flexible without any special treatments.
