We recommend handwashing your BioThane® gear with mild soap and water and drying it with a soft cloth. Please remember that brass hardware will tarnish (patina) over time; regularly polishing/cleaning the hardware will minimize tarnishing. Our gold (brass-plated) and matte black hardware can show wear and tear over time; however, this is normal and does not affect the integrity of the hardware. We recommend washing with mild soap and water and drying with a soft cloth to clean the brass-plated and matte black hardware.

Important Note: Please always thoroughly dry all hardware after use in any water, especially salt water. This will help prevent the hardware from rusting.

While BioThane® is incredibly versatile and repels most of the dirt and grime it encounters, please note that it is not completely stain-proof in all circumstances. Regular cleaning is recommended to keep your BioThane® gear looking new.

We only use Genuine BioThane® on our gear. BioThane® is a Polymer-coated webbing. The Polymer coating makes this webbing a great leather alternative, as it is more durable, waterproof, and easy to clean. BioThane® rinses clean in seconds, will not mold or mildew, and will not absorb most common pet and outdoor odors. BioThane® is manufactured in the USA. Regular cleaning is recommended to keep your BioThane gear looking new.

Is this leash right for my dog?

Our leashes are built for active, adventurous dogs, but dog safety always comes first. These leashes are best suited for dogs that walk well on leash — if your pup is an aggressive puller or needs specialized training equipment, we recommend consulting with a trainer to find the right fit.

Are BioThane® leashes waterproof?

Yes, 100% waterproof. They won't absorb water, or most common pet or outdoor odors. Perfect for beach trips, river walks, and rainy days.

Can I get a custom length?

Yes! Our standard leash is 5 ft, but we're happy to make a custom length. Just reach out to us before ordering — we're happy to make it happen.

Do I need to condition my BioThane® leash?

No conditioning needed. The
BioThane® stays flexible and strong without oils or treatments.
