While we strongly recommend measuring to get the most accurate fit, we understand that it's not always possible if it is for a gift or buying for a new puppy. If possible, measure the dog's neck, allowing sufficient room to slip one or two fingers between the collar and the dog's neck for some wiggle room. Consider the thickness of the dog's fur to be sure you are getting an accurate measurement. Remember, a properly fitting collar should be snug enough to stay in place, but not so tight that it causes discomfort or restricts the dog's movement. Not recommended for dogs who pull or lunge. Our collars and leashes are designed for trained, controlled walking.

Sizing is based on hole placement for the buckle. For example, Large fits necks 17”-22”. The holes are placed evenly at 17”, 18”, 19”, 20”, 21”, and 22”. We recommend choosing a size that will fit your dog on one of the middle holes. Be certain to allow for some wiggle room on either side. We are always here to help so please reach out with any questions you may have. We do not recommend using a previous collar to measure as there is no standard in collar measurements. If you are unsure about what collar size to choose, message us and we'd be happy to help!

We recommend handwashing your BioThane® gear with mild soap and water and drying it with a soft cloth. Please keep in mind that brass hardware will tarnish (patina) over time, regularly polishing/cleaning the hardware will minimize tarnishing. Our Silver (Nickel plated) and Matte Black hardware can show wear and tear over time, however, this is normal and does not affect the integrity of the hardware. To clean the Nickel Plated and Matte Black hardware, we recommend washing with mild soap and water and drying with a soft cloth.

Important Note: Please make sure to always thoroughly dry all hardware after use in any water, especially salt water. This will help to prevent the hardware from rusting.

We only use Genuine BioThane® on our leashes and collars. BioThane is a Polymer coated webbing. The Polymer coating makes this webbing a great leather alternative, as it is more durable, waterproof, and easy to clean.
